I’m so glad you asked. In simplest terms, it’s a step you take when you’re trying to figure out your faith. And, if you’re like me, you don’t have it all figured out. I’ve come to a place where I truly believe that it’s in the struggling, sticky, complicated, muddle puddle of confusion, that you take the best steps of all in strengthening your faith. I have some answers, but to be clear, some days I’m not sure I’m even asking the right questions. I’m willing to bet I’m not alone. I don’t know if your faith has you running towards God or running away or somewhere in between. Maybe you’re not even sure there is a God and you’re just taking some steps to find out. Either way, that’s what Faithprints are all about.
In more tangible terms, Faithprint is a public Facebook Group, where you can ask a question and it’s not stupid; it’s just a question. Or you can wonder, or struggle to understand or share something that finally makes sense to you. You may even be the one that answers a question because you’ve walked down that road before. Maybe we can save each other some steps by sharing some of the ones we’ve already taken. And, maybe, I’ll even share my story of how I fell off my shoes walking through the streets of Austin, Texas with 3 of my colleagues. (#Humbling #GodUsedItForGood) We’ll also be on Twitter @FaithPrintRoc and on Instagram @FaithPrintRoc, because sometimes you take baby steps or you don’t need as many words! Anyone can join and can make a post but they won’t go live until their reviewed. I’m all about Freedom of Speech, as long as kindness is at the core. It is possible to disagree and not be mean. In a crazy world, where they tell you never to talk about religion or politics, I believe you should talk about your faith, because it really matters especially when it comes to politics but that’s a whole another road. Authentic faith comes from honest questions. I believe that Jesus is the Answer, and He’s also the one asking really great questions: “Who do you say that I am?” Let’s figure it out.
FaithPrint is also a blog. #yourereadingit #thanksforgettingthisfar It started when one of my daughters went on a mission trip to Romania and it was a way to tell her story and then I told a few stories. It’s been on my heart to tell a few more, because, well, things happen to me that don’t happen to other people and God uses it all for good. At least most days, I believe He does. (#wondering) So feel free to read of some of our adventures and please add your own!
I have no idea where any of this is going and I could end up in a Facebook Group talking to my imaginary friends and I’m okay with that. #theygetme To me, there’s more risk in standing still than there is in taking the first step. Join me and make a FaithPrint of your own!
